Hello, Andrew Traub is my name.

Back in 1999, I owned a successful computer company called “CompuFlash.” I started it out of my less-than-one-bedroom efficiency on a one way street near the University of Texas campus. I am still amazed when I think back to those days and that people would drive to that efficiency, fight for parking, and give me thousands of their hard earned dollars for a computer I built next to my refrigerator. I was truly fortunate.

The company grew to sales of over $1.6 million. I was proud of it. I had worked my butt off in it. By 1999, I was burnt out. I decided I wanted to move on. I hired a business broker. And then the nightmare began.

I will tell you more about my experience later, but you should know that today I am a practicing lawyer in Austin, Texas. But my passion has always been running a business. Instead of reading law books and articles, I read marketing and business books. All the time. Recently I was approached by a friend with the opportunity to help people buy and sell businesses. I love the idea. I have tons of small business experience, a law license, read contracts every day, have an undergraduate business degree (also from UT – yes, I bleed orange), etc.

So I thought I would put together a website with information about running your own business from A to Z. It will probably always be a work in progress, but I wanted to share with you my experiences in selling my company and offer you my support if you should decide to sell yours.
